Balloon & Wine Festival Announces Concert Additions of Plain White T's, Gloriana, Love & Theft, and Chase Bryant

TEMECULA, CA -  Catching the Country wave sweeping the U.S. music industry, the Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival will feature two days of Country Music on the Main Stage sponsored by Pechanga Resort  & Casino. Country Friday, a traditional Country day will feature Gloriana, Love and Theft, and Chase Bryant. Sunday, a departure from the Freestyle Motocross Show, will feature Chris Young, currently  No. 4 on the Billboard Charts, with  "Lonely Eyes." The hit is No. 2 on Billboard's Country station play list.

Gloriana, currently with the song "Trouble" No. 29 on the Country airplay list, makes a return visit to the Festival stage.  The group's 2009 debut album was No. 3 on the Top 200 Billboard chart and spawned a gold- certified hit single with "Wild At Heart." They won the American Music Award for Breakthrough Artist and in 2010 Gloriana won the Academy of Country Music Award for Top New Vocal Group. Their hit song "(Kissed You) Good Night" made No. 2 on the charts and was certified platinum in the United States. Gloriana has opened for Jason Aldean, Brooks & Dunn, Zac Brown, and in 2012 opened at the Festival for Chris Cagle and Phil Vassar.

Love and Theft first galvanized fans in 2009 with the Top 10 hit "Runaway."  That breakthrough success set the stage for their debut album "World Wide Open,"  which produced the hit single "Dancing In Circles."  After a move from the Carolwood label to RCA, the duo (Stephen

Barker-Liles and Eric Gunderson)  scored their first No. 1 single with "Angel Eyes," which was featured on Love and Theft's self-titled second album, along with the hits "Runnin' Out of Air" and "If You Ever Get Lonely."

Relative newcomer, Chase Bryant has quickly made a name for himself on the Country scene. Bryant’s debut single, “Take It On Back,” was a top 10 smash and one of the fastest rising singles of 2014 by a male country artist. It has reached 1-million combined views on YouTube/ VEVO.  Bryant joins  Tim McGraw’s Shotgun Rider Tour 2015 this summer and toured with Brantley' Gilbert in 2014.
His video(http://hyperurl.co/4ltp7z)  “Take It On Back” spent 14 weeks on the CMT Hot 20 Countdown, was a Great American Country TV (GAC)  Top 20 Country Countdown hit and a Top 20 Most Watched Video on VEVO TV Nashville.
Plain White T's joins Daughtry for the Rockin' Country  Saturday lineup.  Plain White T's is best known for their mega hit "Hey There Delilah."  The 18th most downloaded song of all time, is just one in a string of hits that includes "1,2,3,4" and "Rhythm of Love."  Currently on a European tour, the group releases  their new Indie album "American Nights"  March 31.  The album includes singles "Pause,"  "Stay"  and "Love Again." Fans can see the "Pause" video at  https://youtu.be/vAnChA7HrbU .
Daughtry, a band carrying the name of the lead singer and guitarist Chris Daughtry,  with four No. 1 hits,  four Grammy nominations, four American Music Awards, and over 8 million albums
sold, has sold out concerts around the world. Daughtry will headline the Rocking Wine Country Saturday concert lineup.
Chris Daughtry gained notoriety during "American Idol" Season 5 where he placed fourth and immediately signed with RCA Records.   Daughtry’s self-titled debut was the fastest selling rock debut in Soundscan history and its follow up "Leave This Town" marked the quintet’s second consecutive No. 1 album. Daughtry’s third album "Break The Spell"  was certified gold within four weeks of its release.  "Baptized," Daughtry's fourth album peaked at No. 3 with the singles "Waiting for Superman," and "Long Live Rock & Roll."  The single "Witness" was released February 20, 2015.
Country sensation Chris Young will headline the Pechanga Main Stage on Sunday.  At the age of 29, Young,  was dubbed as "one of country music’s most reliable hit makers” by USA Today.  A Grammy-nominated recording artist, Young plays a powerhouse show packed with hits, including chart toppers “Gettin’ You Home,” “The Man I Want To Be,” “Voices,” “Tomorrow,” “You” and “Who I Am With You.” He’s amassed six  No. 1 singles, seven Gold/Platinum certifications and performed for audiences ranging from ABC’s “Good Morning America” to Australia and Dublin to “The Late Show with David Letterman.”

Balloon and Wine Lineup Has Hits for the Entire Family

Dennis DeYoung: the music of Styx
Alright, it's not your Father's Balloon and Wine Festival - If your father was one of the founders who started the event in 1983 and thought headliners were Jan and Dean and the Drifters. Not that there was anything wrong with that.
And it's not even "my" Festival. I've promoted it since 1994 when we did have the Platters-Drifters-Coasters who just went back stage, changed their clothes and came back as the next band. I called them the barking dogs and took over the entertainment. My last year of booking we had the Brian Setzer Orchestra, Edgar Winter, Rod Piazza, the English Beat, Spyro Gyra,  and Beth Hart.  And well, ask your 25-year-old daughter, or 35-year-old niece if they know any of those bands. I plan on retiring when Jackson Browne is warm up for Sunday's wine stage headliner of Neon Trees. hahahahah. That's as probable as Sammy Hagar and Bob Seger at the Festival on Saturday .... but ...

Put THIRD EYE BLIND on the stage - one of the highest requested bands STILL on college campuses. Their most notable hits come from their 1997-2000 era with "Semi-Charmed Life," "Graduate," "How's it Going to Be," "Losing a Whole Year," and "Jumper."  I teased the Festival's Facebook page with lyrics from their songs and holy cow - I couldn't believe how fast people guessed the band. Of course - they do have over 450,000 fans on Facebook. That's the Saturday headliner. With them is Candlebox - another late 90s alternative/grunge rock band with a few hits and a very loyal following. There are two others that we can't release just yet - but you'll be impressed.

And if you don't like alternative rock - well - gramps, dad, mom - come out Friday night for DENNIS DEYOUNG: The Music of Styx. Between Styx and Supertramp, I wore both of their concert t-shirts to strings - yep - favorite bands of mine in my Cal Poly Pomona days. I know I wore the vinyl out on "Paradise Theater" - so for those wondering my age - hmmm Styx, college - do the math.

Ambrosia plays with DeYoung - and, yes I liked most of their music in the 80s too. (One Eighty the album with "Biggest Part of Me," and "You're the Only Woman" were hits in 1980.) Do the math.

And for the eclectically-versed music lovers - I'm one of those too - I produce the Temecula Bluegrass Festival and Hot Summer Nights - so I like just about everything except rap - well - okay I like Sean Paul but he has reggae roots - and that leads us to Sunday's lineup on the wine stage. Can you believe this one? The Young Dubliners - helloooooo Fiddle!! and Common Sense - hellooooo reggae and world fun party music. One of my favorite bluegrass bands is really an Irish Celtic band - SLIGO RAGS - AND the Young Dubliners? Celtic Rock!  It's not Dave Burns and Mike Kelly (Sligo) but they have a bit more following than my buds with Sligo Rags. While I prefer Dave Burns' great voice, Brendon Holmes and Keith Roberts have a sound all their own. You'll be buying their CDS if you don't already own them.

Tickets are on sale now at www.tvbwf.com. They go on sale at Vons and CVS on May 1st.

You can download press releases at www.temeculacalifornia.com. I'll be posting a schedule for those who like to know when everything happens - as soon as I get one. Go to balloonfest tab.

If you want to be a vendor at the Festival (and I get calls from vendors every day for Western Days in Old Town - no food please, nor purses, jewelry, beef jerky or sunglasses) well there are a few Balloon & Wine Festival Vendor Spots (all of the above but food are welcome at the BWF)  but they always sell out three weeks before the event so better hurry. www.tvbwf.com

Festival Features Jimmy Wayne and New Faces of Country

Friday night, June 4 the Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival will feature three of the newest stars on the country music scene beginning with headliner Jimmy Wayne.

Wayne’s career first took off with a remake of Hall & Oates’ pop classic “Sara Smile.” He sang the tune regularly during his days as a North Carolina prison guard, auditioned with it in 2002 and got a contract with DreamWorks Records. His debut CD appeared in 2003 and produced the top-10 hits “Stay Gone and “I Love You This Much.” After DreamWorks shut its doors, Wayne signed with Valory Music Company and released “Do You Believe Me Now” a No. 1 for three weeks in 2008-09.

On Saturday, April 3, Wayne celebrated making it to his halfway point for his walk for homeless teens titled “Meet Me Halfway.” Wayne was in Amarillo, Texas after walking 93 days and 977 miles from his starting point of Nashville, Tennessee. He will end the walk in Phoenix, Arizona. No stranger to adversity, Wayne’s father abandoned his family. His mother went to prison, and Wayne was shuttled to a series of foster homes. His stepfather tried to murder him and he was a homeless teen until a North Carolina couple took him in and encouraged his love of music. Wayne’s walk can be followed at http://meetmehalfway.jimmywayne.com or you can follow him on twitter.com/JimmyWayne.

The Band Perry and Bomshel will also be in concert Friday as part of the Country Friday lineup. The Band Perry currently has their hit song “Hip to My Heart” at #24 on the Billboard Country Song Chart, and has spent 22 weeks on the charts. Comprised of siblings Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry, the family band had their first country recording session in 2008, caught the ear of Scott Borchetta and Jimmy Harnen, the CEO and president of Republic Nashville, and signed with the new label in the summer of 2009. The group is finishing their debut album due to come out later this year.

Bomshel, a vivacious duo act of fiddle player Kristy Osmunson and lead singer Kelley Shepard, rounds out the three-act show. Their song “Fight Like A Girl” released late last year peaked at No. 30 on the Country Charts. Their album of the same title, was released in October and has peaked at No. 24. In January the duo was nominated by the Academy of Country Music for Top New Duo. The awards are this month.

Tickets for the Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival are available online now at reduced rates. Prices at the gate during the Festival will be higher. Friday adult tickets are $20, Saturday $22, Sunday $15. Juniors ages 7-12 are $5 Children ages six and under are free. There is a weekend combo ticket available online that will include all three days for $50 per adult.

Saturday’s concerts include Paul Rodgers, Vertical Horizon and the Gin Blossoms. Sunday’s entertainment includes the smooth jazz mega stars Spyro Gyra on the Wine Garden Stage and the WGAS Freestyle Motocross show on the main stage.
