Nitro Express, L.A. Accident and The Bash headline Friday, July 15 in Temecula

Old Town Temecula's Hot Summer Nights rock into high gear Friday, July 15 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. with three of last summer's most requested bands: Nitro Express, L.A. Accident and The Bash.

Nitro Express (www.NitroExpressBand.com) is a country-rock band that is requested all over Southern California, and has played together over 10 years. Their reputation for incredible sound, versatility, and energy, has made them a favorite in casinos and clubs from Nevada to San Diego.

Nitro Express has influences ranging from Bakersfield to Liverpool, Nashville to London, Texas to Chicago, Detroit to Sweet Home Alabama, and many points in between. Classic Rock, Blues, Bluegrass, R&B, Country, Southern Rock, Surf Music, Motown, and even Reggae are some of the components that make up their unique sound. With 4 strong singers, superb harmonies, virtuoso musicianship, and a strong beat, they are one of the most entertaining acts on the West Coast. They will play in the Baily's Courtyard from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

L.A. Accident (http://www.myspace.com/lukeandrewsmusic) plays at Sweet Lumpy's from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. Bandleader Luke Andrews is a singer/songwriter who relays his experiences and life lessons through his lyrics. His band made its first Hot Summer Nights appearance at Temecula Cheese Company last and wowed the crowd with encores.

In 2006, shortly after Andrews moved to LA from Toronto, he was struck by a car while getting off of a bus. He came away from the accident with nothing but a couple scratches and a huge medical bill.

“I named my band The LA Accident (The Luke Andrews Accident), because I was alive after facing death, but also because I don't believe in “accidents”. Accidents usually have a negative connotation. I believe that almost everything happens for a reason," stated Andrews.

In 2008, he appeared on MTV's NEXT, where the New York Film Academy shot a music video for his original song, "Back in Love."

The Bash is a versatile band that comes complete with full stage, lights and huge sound. They will play from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on the patio next to Palomar Inn at 5th and Front Street. They bring together classical and jazz trained musicians and players with harder edged pop and rock backgrounds. This when combined with country western, R&B, blues, and bluegrass backgrounds allow The Bash to support an extremely diverse selection of music types.

Acoustic guitarist Andrew Bell will play from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Villa di' Calabro. Additional entertainment includes Q103.3's Mike Dellinger with games, music and triva throughout the evening, Dynamite Dave and his crazy balloon creations, and Maureen - the roaming puppet show from Theater 16.

Theater 16's roaming puppet show delights young and old with their spontaneous laughter and entertainment. They are regular features at the Ventura, Kern, and Merced County Fairs as well as Mohave County Fair in Arizona and the Big Fresno Fair in October.

Each Friday night through September 2, Hot Summer Nights presents a variety of bands and family entertainment. Most family games and activities are scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. Some bands play until 10 p.m. See the schedule at www.temeculacalifornia.com for details.

Hot Summer Nights is sponsored by the City of Temecula. This is the 12th year for the event which features up to five bands each Friday as well as family activities in Old Town Temecula. Parking in the Old Town district is free. There are numerous restaurants, wine tasting rooms, and unique food choices for the palate and dozens of boutiques, antique shops and gift stores for browsing.
