BMX Team Soil Show, Bayou Brothers and Mark Jackson Band entertain in Old Town Temecula This Friday

Team Soil, with motivational speakers and a host of talented BMX riders will highlight the entertainment Friday, August 6 in Old Town Temecula. This BMX Jump Show will feature some of the top performers in California in a show sure to get the crowd roaring. See them at the Old Town Plaza parking lot at Old Town Front Street and Moreno at 6:30 p.m. only

Music lovers will find plenty of styles to suit their taste with Cajun, Country, Jazz and Swing bands all playing from 6 to 9 p.m. With a sound straight out of Louisiana’s dance clubs, the Bayou Brothers  rock Cajun dancers right onto the dance floor. Accordion, keyboards, guitar, bass, drums, and washboards make the sound that is a little bit bayou, and a ton of jambalaya. Catch this band at Sweet Lumpy’s from 6-9 p.m.

The Mark Jackson Band is a five-time San Diego Music Award nominee receiving "Best Americana Album of the Year" nomination for their well-regarded 2003 debut CD, "Vigilante Road". The seven-piece band has a repertoire of original roots country music and cover tunes. They will play at Baily’s Courtyard from 6-9 p.m.

Saxophones, sliding trombones and the jazz/swing sounds of a big band will also be found in Old Town. Open Road, self-described as a band that jazzes up the classics, can be found on Amazon.com. Led by saxophonist Kenneth Rice of Temecula’s Little Shop of Horns, Open Road will perform in front of the Old Town Smoke Shop on Old Town Front Street near Rosa’s Cantina.

Also playing the Big Band Sounds and Swing of Temecula, the Valley Winds will play at Tesoro Winery from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Every Friday night at Pennypickle’s Workshop/Temecula Children’s Museum, children and their parents can enjoy science adventures from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. For information visit www.pennypickles.org.
