Take a Friday Night vacation from the work week in Old Town Temecula during Hot Summer Nights, July 9 through September 3, 2010. The weekly Friday night series of entertainment and music is part of the City of Temecula’s Summerfest promotion that began with the Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival June 4th and finishes with Labor Day Weekend.
Hot Summer Nights opens July 9, 6 to 9 p.m., with a musically-charged line up of Aunt Kizzy’z Boyz, The Silver Beatles, Guilty Conscience and Diego playing at different locations in Old Town.
Aunt Kizzy’z Boyz, a rocking blues band that packs Old Town Temecula every year, returns to the Old Town Front Street Bar & Grill (Baily’s Courtyard from 6 to 9 p.m.) The concert is free.
Bandleader Jimmy King on vocals, harp and guitar formed the Aunt Kizzy’z Boyz after sitting in with top musicians from Santana and Joe Cocker’s band. Vocalist Sugaray became interested in music while attending church, infusing a strong gospel style to his singing. He is known for his high energy and ability to get the entire crowd enthusiastically involved. Other members include Dwane Hathorn on drums, Joe Schiavone on bass guitar, Michael Mack on keyboard, and Bastos Moenho “Moe” on percussion.
The Silver Beatles will play at the Old Town Plaza at Old Town Front Street and Moreno. The Silver Beatles, a southern California Beatles tribute band, provides an uncanny reproduction of the sounds of the Beatles. This talented band, takes the audience on an audio “Magical Mystery Tour” visiting the entire Beatles repertoire along the way. They play from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Guilty Conscience will be playing at Temecula Cheese Company on Front Street at Fifth from 6-9 p.m. A multi-talented band that can play top 40 tunes and favorite rock tunes from the past, Guilty Conscience was so popular at previous Hot Summer Nights spectators raised tips to convince the band to play another set.
